THE PROJECT LIVE captures my former live band in the intimate setting of the Empanada Parlour (Austin, TX)

Recorded April 11, 2001 it features Spencer Gibb (guitar), John Siebenthaler (acoustic bass), and Brannen Temple (cocktail drum kit), this 10 song CD is a great representation of the diversity of sound created by this fantastic group.

The album was originally going to be compiled from 2 shows -- the other recorded at the Ritz Upstairs... All the crowd support at the Ritz was fantastic - but the quieter, intimate show at Empanada was undoubtably very special and we felt it made the best recording.

This album well captures the vibe and the songs of this period. The band was tight - we had been playing a lot at the time and the material was well developed and polished... The cool cocktail kit work of Brannen - Spen's whale sounds, effects & watery guitar - John's fundamental groove and the ethereal synth sweeps - Debussy-ish Fender Rhodes & vocal work (compliments of me)- make this record a dreamy, liquid voyage thru the waters of passion, imagination, and most importantly - reflection.

Songs include: Turn Around. The Mind. Face Up. Desire. the Sea. Can't Rewind. Dreamscape Waltz. Fragile Heart. This or That. Beautiful Place.

THE LAURA SCARBOROUGH PROJECT INCLUDED:

Spencer Gibb (homeless looking guy in the photo far right) on guitar

After finally receiving his PhD in Astro-Physics at MIT, Spencer Gibb took a seven year sabbatical to the jungles of Venezuela in an attempt to teach children how to eat canned food and abuse Western medicine. Realizing that many others had actually been there before him and there were no more remote, spiritually, medically and nutritionally advanced peoples left to corrupt he returned to the United States, where he learnt to play "guitar" with 3 rubber bands and an old toilet seat. He now lives for only one purpose. To make Laura Scarborough happy.

John Siebenthaler (middle normal looking guy)
on acoustic bass

In addition to LSP, John has participated in diverse projects such as the Illusionists and Future Light Sound System.
He has also been instrumental in the planning and implementation of strategic beat delivery operations carried out by Fundamental Bass. To this end, he regularly selects and gathers beat strains from remote sites for analysis and recombination in his Austin research facility.

Brannen Temple (the Lenny Kravitz looking guy on the left) on drums

His extensive studies have taken him deep into the abyss of many a crevice to brush and slinkily probe to collect all of the necessary data that has made him passionate, yet aggressively aware and he is now an authority on this and other related subjects.
Able to offer a vast wealth of knowledge on low end, also involving the 'Groove Factor', Temple interjects, "It's all in my approach. Certain...but unassuming at first. I use all of my super powers. Listening, watching and what we experts call 'vibing' to lock in with smooth rhythm and persistence. The next thing you know, I have made advances and discoveries that create the desired effect."

Temple loves to share his effects with those who choose him. His services have been used by Sheena Easton, Chaka Khan, Jody Watley, Patrice Rushen to name a few. On a less laboratory level Christian McBride, Robben Ford and others have also called upon his services.
